Shop and Enjoy

If you are looking for a gratifying shopping experience, hand-made items or unique fashion pieces that will make you look distinguished and glamorous, you should explore some of the tiny shops hidden in old parts of town. Beauty of old squares in Sarajevo, Mostar, Banja Luka and other cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, fabulous and innovative design, and remarkably friendly and hospitable service staff will make your shopping a memorable experience.

Back in the old times, craftsmen shops were the major trading spots in cities across the country. Some of these hand-work selling spots remain to this day and still produce genuine products that not only can serve as a perfect gift from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but can be used in every-day life. Almost every home in Bosnia and Herzegovina possesses at least a hand-crafted copper coffee pot (cezve) and a tin-plated casserole. The reason is simple. Food cooked in such vessels is much more delicious. Often, these souvenir and hand-craft shops are located near traditional restaurants where you can taste incredible dishes prepared in such a way (ascinica – traditional restaurants serving varieties of vegetable and meat). Many homes have stylish and wood-crafted furniture and pieces, especially those originating from Konjic, a tiny Herzegovinian city famous for wood-carving skills.

Visitors also find shopping for “war” souvenirs very interesting. Many craftsmen use brass material of the weapon shells shot during the 1992-1995 war to produce innovative items.

There are many famous fashion designers from Bosnia and Herzegovina such as Kao Pao Shu, Kaftan Studio, Haad… and young ingenious designers creating extravagant fashion or unique jewelry pieces.

Many of our tours are designed to create unique experiences, and do include shopping ventures as well. Our intention is to support the local community, and help visitors learn about the local traditions and customs. At the same time, we do not want you to miss on taking with you a piece of art created with love.
